Pavilion

Art to read
In addition to the attractive view, the simple yet elegant Pavilion showcases a wonderful artwork by the artist Adrian Scheidegger, created in cooperation with the front man of the local band, Züri West.

Adrian Scheidegger (born 1965 in Biel) und Kuno Lauener (born 1961 in Aarberg).

The installation entitled “Ein Song, à fleur geschliffen” designed by Adrian Scheidegger for the Pavilion “brings the links between the written word and the underlying rhythm to life”. Three hundred and ninety-three inlays cast in aluminum and polished flush with the terrazzo floor along the large window overlooking the city reproduce the lyrics of a song by Züri West, called “Toucher”.

Kulturschür UPtown

Even from a distance, you can recognize another weighty Luginbühl sculpture on the wall of the Kulturschür. Inside the building, the corridor on the ground floor is decorated with the Gurten graffiti of the artists from Idee kreativ.

Idee kreativ is an owner-operated enterprise and a dynamic, creative collective. In addition to organizing show-paintings and graffiti workshops for company or team events on the Gurten, Idee kreativ primarily designs architectural areas using different painting and design techniques as well as modern printing technologies. In the Kulturschür UPtown, familiar Gurten motifs and typical subjects in Bern, such as the Zytglogge, highland cattle and the Gurten funicular have been reproduced in a modern, artistic manner using a graffiti technique.
