Gurten observatory: a journey through the night sky

How are shooting stars formed? How did the solar system come into being? The observatory on the Gurten offers all astronomy fans a detailed insight into physical and other scientific phenomena in space. Public observation evenings take place every Tuesday evening under the professional guidance of Astro Events. The various celestial events are explained in an understandable manner and can be observed with a telescope. 

The number of visitors is limited to 20 people per evening and pre-registration is necessary. The observatory visits are held in German.

Combine your trip to the observatory with a visit to the Gurtners restaurant. We offer you the "Stärne(Z)nacht" three-course meal, including admission to the observatory, for CHF 69.

April 1 to October 31: Tuesday, 9:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. 
Winter
November 1 to March 31: Tuesday, 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

The observatory is located on the Gurten meadow directly next to the Gurten garden.
